I was scheduled to make a presentation to senior management on our solution to a problem that would cause our platform to crash within 5 to 7 days. The presentation was scheduled before we developed a solution. We didn't have the question and management wanted to know the answer. My presentation was: this is the problem as we see it now, this is who is working on the solution, “then a miracle happens”, production is fine.

It was not as funny as Dilbert, but it bought us time to discuss options and find a solution that kept production live. We did not go dark.

For many months people used “and than a miracle happens” as their answer to difficult production issues.
